UMTS TECHNOLOGY
UMTS is a third Generation(3G) cellular system for network which was developed base on GSM standards. This system offers higher throughput unlike GPRS and EDGE services in GSM. In addition to faster data transfer, the system enable many services to be run concurrently.
The service include Packet Interactives, Background, Streaming and Conversational services.UMTS has a low latency of less than 2ms.
In Telecommunications there are two planes; the User-Plane(UP) and the Control Plane (CP). The UP is responsible for handling the actal user data which is being transmitted and received. The control plane handles the signaling informations. The key service that all telecommunications technology will deliver are; voice and data.
Data is simply text, video and photo. Any lastest technology that will ever be developed will only be base on the application of data and voice, either improving the voice quality, resolution(quality) and make the delivery faster(speed) or converting the voice to text, video or photo and converting voice to text, video or photo.
